Protection Necessity
Exposure to ionizing radiation is a concern that needs to be addressed in angiography and radiology laboratories. Prolonged exposure can lead to serious issues such as cancer and genetic disorders. Therefore, individuals working in these fields need to be protected.
Why weightless?
LConventional methods used for radiation protection can impose excessive weight on the user’s back, causing difficulties in concentration during prolonged procedures and leading to orthopedic diseases such as myalgia with prolonged use.
Ergonomy
The design that protects the entire body and particularly the forward-leaning design in the torso area increases the user’s control during the procedure. In addition, another advantage is that the carrier mechanism arm continues from the overhead area to the back, avoiding entering the field of view.
The Types of ARK
The current ARK system has both ceiling-mounted and floor-standing models available. In addition to these, development efforts are ongoing for protection systems that isolate only the collimator area and for simple type protective models with stands.

The main purpose of the ARK system is to eliminate the weights imposed on the user in conventional protection methods. This prevents primary physicians from experiencing difficulties in concentration due to the burdens on them, especially in prolonged procedures. In addition, orthopedic discomfort such as myalgia caused by conventional protectors is eliminated. Another advantage of the ARK system is the protection of the entire body.

Protection provided by conventional methods causes gaps, especially in the head and neck areas. For full protection of areas where vital organs are located, ARK provides comprehensive and complete solutions.
Radiation emanating from the collimator in an unprotected environment affects all personnel in the room. Conventional protection systems provide only limited protection.
